<div class="Body"><a name="1046877">The Unit Information page appears when you choose </a><span class="UI-Element">Information &gt;&gt; Unit </span><span class="UI-Element">Information</span> from the menu bar, or when you click an ID number on the Controller Summary page.</div>
<div class="Body"><a name="1046902">This page shows a list of the units on the current controller and provides </a>summary information about each unit.</div>
<div class="Body"><a name="1047124">To see details about a particular unit, click the link in the Unit # column. </a></div>
<div class="Body"><span class="NoteHeading"><a name="1046885">Unit #.</a></span> The unit number assigned to the unit by the firmware. </div>
<div class="Body"><span class="NoteHeading"><a name="1267273">Name.</a></span> If a name has been given to this unit, it shows here. If it is empty, no name has been assigned. You can name your unit in the <span class="UI-Element">Unit Names</span> section of the <span class="UI-Element">Management &gt;&gt; Controller Settings</span> page.</div>
<div class="Body"><span class="NoteHeading"><a name="1467315">Type.</a></span> The type of unit, specified during configuration: RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6, RAID 10, RAID 50, or Single Disk. For details about each of the RAID levels, see <a href="3ware_Intro.2.7.html#1584812">Available RAID Configurations</a>.</div>
<div class="Body"><span class="NoteHeading"><a name="1467320">Capacity.</a></span> The logical capacity (size) of the unit. (1 KB defined as 1024 bytes)</div>
<div class="Body"><span class="NoteHeading"><a name="1046928">Status.</a></span> The operational status of the unit: OK, Rebuilding, Initializing, Migrating, Verifying, Degraded, or Inoperable (missing drives). When a unit is Rebuilding, Initializing, Migrating, or Verifying, the percentage (%) complete is also shown. For an explanation of the statuses, see <a href="Maintain_Units.7.5.html#1251822">Unit Statuses</a>.</div>

<div class="CellBody"><span class="NoteHeading"><a name="1370285">Note:</a></span> If an asterisk (*) appears next to the status of a unit, there is an error on one of the drives in the unit. This feature provides a diagnostic capability for potential problem drives. The error may not be a repeated error, and may be caused by an ECC error, SMART failure, or a device error. To see if this error condition still exists, rescan the controller; rescanning will clear the drive error status if the condition no longer exists.</div>
